Joanna Michalak from the Department of Economics was a speaker at a series of scientific seminars organized at the University of Macerata in Italy. Meetings with our employee were held on 24 - 26/10/2023.
The topics of the lectures delivered by Joanna Michalak, MA, included issues related to the role of emotions felt by investors. The seminars are a continuation of the popularization of research conducted by a scientist from our Department together with Tomasz Kruszewski, Ph.D., NCU professor from the Department of Cognitive Science. In fact, the team in their research analyzed hundreds of thousands of messages published on Twitter in March 2020, and on this basis, they assessed the reactions of stock market players to the coronavirus. The seminars were attended by staff and students at Macerata University.
