Obtaining accreditation from AACSB International by FESM required undergoing a lengthy (lasting six years) accreditation procedure consisting of seven stages:



In March 2009 FESM began formal proceedings related to the obtainment of AACSB accreditation. The first four stages, i.e., becoming a member of AACSB International (stage 1), meeting preliminary requirements (stage 2), assignment of an AACSB Mentor and the AACSB Mentor’s on-campus visits (stage 3) and the evaluation of Standards Alignment Plan Implementation Report (stage 4) were successfully completed in April 2012. In February 2015 the fifth stage of the accreditation process (consisting in implementing the Standards Alignment Plan and in preparing and submitting the Self-Evaluation Report) was completed. Stage 6 was the visit of the AACSB Peer Review Team (PRT) which was successfully completed on May 13, 2015. During this visit the PRT met FESM faculty members, students and external stakeholders (graduates, the Advisory Council of Business Representatives). The last step of the procedure (stage 7) was related to the ratification of the decision on granting AACSB accreditation (made on 5th of August, 2015 by the Initial Accreditation Committee) by the AACSB Board of Directors the stage and was completed on 12th August, 2015. The accreditation was granted for the period of five years.

FESM has already initiated further work on the reaccreditation process.
