On May 7, 2020, the Initiative of Excellence - Research University (IDUB) announced the results of two competitions for research about the COVID-19 epidemic. In total, 14 winners were selected. One of them is Prof. Tadeusz Kufel, an employee of our Faculty.
The purpose of the competition was the financial support of scientific teams submitting original research ideas in the field of technical and exact sciences and life that could be implemented to counteract COVID-19. The competition was addressed to the Nicolaus Copernicus University employees who have at least a doctoral degree and have documented scientific achievements in areas related to the purpose of the competition. Finally, 14 applications had been submitted.
As a result of individual assessments, a list of winners was prepared:

- Prof. Wiesław Nowak;
- Prof. Daniel Załuski;
- Prof. Sebastian Maćkowski
The CRUSH competition was addressed to academic teachers as well as Ph.D. students and students of the Nicolaus Copernicus University. Formal and substantive evaluation of competition entries was carried out by the Competition Commission indicated by the Field Council of Humanities and Social Sciences and Arts. In total, 34 applications had been submitted. One application has been withdrawn by the Applicant.
