On October 1, 2018, the faculty inauguration of the academic year 2018/2019 for full-time students took place. It was exceptional for our Faculty because it was 51 inauguration in the history of The Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.
The program of the ceremony included, among others presentations of Faculty Dean, dr. hab. Jerzy Boehlke, prof. NCU and prof. dr hab. Danuta Dziawgo, Vice-Rector for Economy and Development of the NCU, who welcomed new students at the Faculty and University, showing them the benefits of taking up economic studies at the Nicolaus Copernicus University. Another point of the program was the speech of the Governor of Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Mr. Mikołaj Bogdanowicz, who handed the sculpture to the Dean, which represents a symbol of unity between Toruń and Bydgoszcz.
The exceptional guests of the event were first Graduates of our Faculty's studies. One of them, Mr. Janusz Gawron, delivered a speech in which he recalled period of his studies.
After the speech, the indexes were handed to the new Ph.D. students. In this academic year, the third-degree studies will be undertaken by 10 students, most of them graduate of our Faculty.
The main point of the ceremony was the oath and the handing of matriculation letters to the first year students. During the ceremony, over 500 people officially became the part of an academic community and started their (at least) 3-year student's adventure. We are glad that you have chosen to study at our Faculty and you will create #teamwneiz together with us.
After matriculation, the Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Ryszard Lorenczewski, presented the names of the best student and graduate of WNEiZ. The best student was Mr. Marcin Stawarz, second-degree student of finance and accounting (sp. Financial engineering), and the best graduate - Mrs. Anna Maria Wierzchowska (finance and accounting, sp. Financial consulting and corporate finance), which obtained an average of 4.84. Congratulations and we wish you continued success.
The event ended with a guest speech of Mr. Stanisław Rakowicz, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Peru and Julia Lewicka-Urbańska, representative of the Student Government.
On October 2 there will be a meeting with the Dean for Student Affairs, dr. Ryszard Lorenczewski. Classes at the Faculty of Economics and Management for full-time studies begin on October 3. A detailed schedule is available in the events calendar.
