We encourage you to read the letter Letter of Vice-Dean for International Relations of our Faculty, Aranka Ignasiak-Szulc, PhD for the new academic year 2021/2022.
Dear English-language Students at the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń,
on behalf of the Faculty authorities and members, and the entire Faculty community, I am very pleased to welcome you to FESM at the beginning of the new academic year.
I am proud that despite the pandemic, a significant group of foreign students will, once again, start their studies with us, both, as regular students and, as visiting us under the Erasmus+ Program, and that our studies offered in English are more and more often selected by Polish students. I especially greet those of you who have already arrived in Toruń, sometimes from very distant places in the world. Wishing you a pleasant stay in the City of Copernicus and our University, I believe that soon we will also be joined by those of you for whom the organization of arrival has not yet finished and that it will be possible to integrate our entire international academic community.
We are all very happy that this new academic year appears to be a time when our meetings in lecture rooms seem possible! Studies conducted in Polish have been mostly planned in the traditional way - in the hospitable and safe rooms of the FESM. §Unfortunately, due to the information received by our International Office about difficulties in obtaining visas or other obstacles preventing the timely arrival of a significant group of our foreign students (e.g., from China) to Poland, I had to apply to the University authorities for permission to organize on-line classes at our English-thought programs.
I hope that conducting on-line classes for you will be a temporary situation. If only the state of the pandemic and the laws in force allow us, and if during the winter semester it turns out that a given group is ready to participate in our lecturing traditionally in the classroom, I will apply to your lecturers to change the mode of conducting classes to the one that you prefer. It will probably be necessary to maintain some sanitary regime - we will inform you about the detailed rules that will be in force current for the day of starting the classes.
I am convinced that - regardless of the form of our meetings - all classes conducted at our Faculty will be satisfactory for you and will provide you with the knowledge necessary for your international career development.
The International Office at our Faculty will offer you any organizational assistance - please contact Ms. Milena Miszewska (room 19; e-mail: milenam@umk.pl) or Mr. Mariusz Lewandowski (room 18; e-mail: mlewandowski@umk.pl).
I would also cordially like to invite you to the inaugural meetings organized for you in English. They will take place on Monday, October 4th:
- on-line: 1:00 p.m. - MS Teams, code: 880v6tl
- in the building of FESM: 3:00 p.m. - Faculty Council room (face-masks are obligatory!).
I wish you a satisfying academic year!
