The Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń has once again obtained the prestigious international AACSB accreditation. Accreditation will be valid until the academic year 2025/2026.
AACSB International (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) is the longest operating organization in the world. It accredits universities implementing curricula in the fields of economics, management, finance, accounting and business at undergraduate, graduate and doctoral studies.
The accreditation is a globally recognized mark of quality which guarantees meeting the highest standards. At the same time, it confirms the commitment to continuous self-improvement and development. Currently, the AACSB accreditation is held by about 5% of the best business schools in the world: a total of 926 institutions from 60 countries, including such renowned universities as Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Yale University, and London Business School. The Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń is one out of two universities in Poland with this accreditation, but the only public one.
The accreditation was given to the Faculty for the first time in 2015. The extension of the validity period of the AACSB accreditation is the result of a long-term process of adapting to 15 AACSB standards. The standards focus on strategic management, innovation, teaching standards, the involvement of employees and students in the academic life and the development of their professional careers. This contributes to the fact that AACSB accreditation is extremely highly valued both in the educational and business environment. From the perpective of students, studing at the Facuty having international business accreditation, makes a chace for increasing their competitive advantage on the labor market.
