Dr Marlena Ciechan-Kujawa, NCU Prof. was elected Dean of our Faculty for the term 2024-2028.
Marlena Ciechan-Kujawa is a graduate of the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management. She graduated in 1996 with a degree in financial management from the Faculty of Management and Marketing. In 2002, she was awarded a PhD in Economics and in 2015 a postdoctoral degree based on her achievement entitled. ‘Multidimensional business auditing - added value for organisations and stakeholders’. Her main research interests are in the area of integrated (financial and non-financial) performance generators of business models. Her research focuses on analysing the determinants and mechanisms of implementing digital and sustainable strategies and their impact on organisational performance. Prof. Ciechan-Kujawa has many years of experience in research and implementation work, as well as expert services. She was President of a university spin-off company, conducted integrated management systems audits and designed performance measurement and reporting models for dozens of business organisations, including the international project ‘Innovation Framework for Challenge-Oriented Intelligent Manufacturing’. For her scientific and organisational activities, she has received numerous individual and team awards, including those granted by the Association of Accountants in Poland for the best scientific work in accounting, or the Foundation for the Development of Education and Higher Education for the most innovative and valuable study programme.Since 2017, she has been Head of the Department of Management Accounting and since 2020. Vice-Dean for Science and Cooperation with the Social and Economic Environment. For many years, she has led the Business Controlling and Project Management postgraduate programmes implemented with business partners. She has initiated cooperation with dozens of enterprises and organisations with which the University carries out teaching, scientific and organisational projects, and in 2023 she will establish the BiznesHub - a faculty unit supporting the development of science-business projects. She is NCU's representative in international industry organisations, i.e. Association of Business Service Leaders ABSL, International Controllers Association ICV, PMI.w Project Management Institute.
Professor chaired the team that developed the Faculty Development Strategy 2023-2030 and the Social Impact Strategy. She also chairs the Faculty Publications Committee and is a member of the Research Ethics Committee and the Faculty Quality of Education Committee. She is also a member of the CPATT Supervisory Board, the Social Council of the University Hospital No. 1 Antoni Jurasz in Bydgoszcz and the Supervisory Board of the Centre for Leadership and Corporate Social Responsibility. On behalf of the university, she was an Expert of the Commission for the Evaluation of Science in the last parameterisation process.
Prof. Marlena Ciechan-Kujawa has promoted over 280 bachelor's and master's degrees. She has promoted or supervises 6 doctoral students. Her passions are winter sports and travelling far and near.
